362 changes over 37 days. Posted to #🌐・website-updates at 9pm Eastern on the day it shipped.
⬆️ Better
- Your character page no longer turns up in search engines — the link still works for anyone you send it to, it just is not listed on Google any more
🛠️ Fixed
- The game-servers page now says Ready when a server is running — it had been calling a running server Stopped
- The note to staff that a new member has served their 90 days now arrives the same day the Graduate button goes live
- Logging in with the right password before confirming your email now sends the confirmation link, not a password reset
- Linking your Twitch and Discord accounts now brings your Codex discoveries across with you
- The Music Room station comes back on right after /stop, instead of five minutes later
- Coming back from AFK now clears it even if the first place you chat is one the bot stays quiet in
- !suggest, !afk and !level work again from Twitch chat without linking your account first
- Closing a game vote from the staff button no longer posts the lineup a second time
- A song that waited its turn in the queue is no longer cut off and restarted partway through
- Skipping a track in the jukebox no longer plays the next one twice
⬆️ Better
- The game-server panel (AMP) is on the newest version, 2.8.0.4, across every server
- The bot now refuses to ping anyone unless a message is specifically meant to — a safety net under every post it makes
- Voting buttons and the staff Close button on a game vote now answer straight away, even when the site is busy
- Accepting a duel now tells you whether it was your balance or a hiccup — and a hiccup takes nothing
- The Users page now shows when a member was last seen — on the site or in Discord — not just when they last signed in
🛠️ Fixed
- The Crown of the Week now comes off when it should — a hand-over that failed used to leave it on somebody for good
- Two people changing the Music Room station at the same moment now make one change, not two
- The Codex no longer forgets an item you used up — crafting with it, drinking it or selling it keeps it marked as found
- A timeout that could not be applied is now recorded as failed instead of reported as done
- Approving an old role request can no longer demote somebody who has since been promoted
- Members whose votes were counted no longer appear on a poll after they delete their account
- A go-live announcement now says whose stream it is again — the name was losing its 'is live!'
- Replacing your profile picture now retires the old one instead of leaving it reachable
- A role menu with a lost confirmation is no longer posted again every thirty seconds
- Reporting a creator page now tells staff about it, instead of sitting in a queue nobody watches
- A creator promoted to moderator now keeps their Creator role instead of losing it
- The Legends boards on the world page no longer list Twitch chat accounts by their Twitch handle
- Healing in a fight now takes a proper turn — a frozen monster stays frozen and you can still dodge
- Duel daily limits now reset at midnight our time instead of 8pm, so the counter matches what it says
- Announcements are now dated by our clock, so an evening post is no longer filed under tomorrow
- Signing in with email, Google or a magic link now cancels a scheduled deletion, and tells you it did
- Deleting your account now takes your games, your Steam link and your name on old vote results with it
- A suspended account can no longer earn crates, runes or raid rewards through the Discord buttons
- Station names and track titles can no longer smuggle links or formatting into what the bot posts
- Asking Tallow where the site is now gets an answer — the reply was being thrown away for repeating an address he was told to give
- A song you queue in the jukebox can no longer be cut off when the bot heads back to the Music Room between tracks
- Closing a game vote from the staff panel can no longer ping the whole server
- A raid reward that does not pay out no longer hands you leadership skill anyway
- The Question of the Day is no longer lost for the day when the bot restarts before it posts
- A song you queued before joining voice can now actually be played — hop into a voice channel, run /play again, and the bot joins and starts it
- A game server we no longer run now says so on the status page, instead of claiming we cannot reach our server panel
- Daily trivia that fails to post is now put up again instead of being lost for the day
- A game vote whose lineup fails to post is now retried until it lands, instead of closing with nothing announced
- The duel Strike button no longer leads to a card that shows no health and never ends
- Giveaway winners are now announced even if the first attempt fails — the draw used to close with nobody told
- Setting the Music Room station no longer tells you it cannot be played when the only thing wrong is that the room is switched off
- The pre-stream reminder no longer posts an old sign-up sheet from a feature that was removed
- The help command now lists everything the bot can do — the bank, rob, the jukebox and Tallow were all missing from what called itself the full command list
- Accepting a duel no longer says the arena panel is up before it has posted
- A raid victory that fails to post is now retried instead of being marked announced with nothing announced
- Snares, lanterns and snare parts now show in your Discord inventory — the biggest item category had no tab at all
- The daily login objective now rolls over at midnight Eastern instead of mid-evening
- Signing up now tells you honestly if the confirmation email did not send, instead of saying it did
- Creating a character now records it even if the picture fails to upload, so achievements that watch for it still fire
- A raid payout that fails now says so — it used to tell you that you had nothing to claim
- The game-server status now stays red while a server is actually down, instead of going green again the moment the outage had been announced
- A track stuck as playing when the bot never picked it up now returns to the queue instead of jamming it
- Ask Tallow with the slash command and he now names the right commands on Discord instead of chat ones
- Images attached to an announcement now actually show in the Discord post
- Linking your Twitch account now tells you if your Bucks did not carry over, instead of reporting success either way
- Declining a duel now tells you if it did not go through, instead of always saying declined
- One dead link in the jukebox queue no longer stops the music — it skips past and keeps playing
- Deleting a race, class, monster or location is now refused while members still have one, instead of silently blanking it on their character
- Skip now actually skips — it only marked the track skipped and let it play to the end
- Accepting a duel now takes your stake and starts the fight together, so a hiccup cannot take the Bucks without starting the duel
- Pressing Heal can no longer take health off you when your max health has just dropped
- The updates timeline files each evening digest under the day it actually shipped, not the next one
- A long clip upload is no longer deleted mid-upload after two hours
- Killing a monster with the chat fight command now counts toward your kill quest, the same as fighting from the panel
- The go-live shoutout in each creator Twitch chat now actually posts — it had never once fired
- Enabling or disabling a raid in the admin catalog can no longer start or kill a raid that is actually running
- Duel payouts no longer report a win they failed to pay — a failed pot or wager payout is now logged and left recoverable instead of vanishing
⬆️ Better
- Staff pages now say why when something is refused, instead of reloading and saying nothing
- Every link in the footer now calls a page the same thing the rest of the site does
- Chat replies on Twitch no longer show stray asterisks and backticks from Discord formatting
- The What Changed page now looks like the rest of the site instead of unstyled text
- Linking Steam now checks the sign-in was meant for us and for you before it links anything
- Signing up with an address that already has an unfinished account now sends a link to choose the password, so only the person with the inbox can claim it
- Changing your password or turning on two-step now ends your other sessions, and leaves the tab you are using alone
- Resetting your password now signs out anyone who was already signed in as you, on every device
- A health alert that could not actually be delivered is no longer recorded as sent, so it retries instead of going quiet
- Kits no longer show a price — nothing has ever charged for one
- The level card, AFK and suggestions now work on Discord without signing in to the website first
- The Discord sign-in message no longer blames email verification for every failed login
- Two moderators deciding the same submission at once can no longer overwrite each other
- Member email addresses are no longer written into the server log when a notification fails
- A ban or timeout now waits up to 12 hours for the bot instead of lapsing after one, so it is not lost to a restart
- An image waiting for review is no longer readable by anyone with the link before a moderator has seen it
- A suspended account can no longer keep using the chat economy and the RPG
- The hub now watches whether the Twitch bot is really in chat, and outage alerts stop pretending they were delivered when the bot that posts them is down
⬆️ Better
- The monitoring history now records a check once per state instead of once every five minutes — same uptime numbers, a fraction of the storage
- The hub now watches whether the Discord bot is actually answering, not just running — so a command that times out gets noticed instead of going unrecorded
⬆️ Better
- Closing a game vote asks you to confirm first, so a vote cannot be ended early by a stray click
- Game votes now just pick the game — the sign-up sheet that used to follow a vote is gone
- Game vote results now show plain vote counts and who voted for each game, instead of points and averages
🛠️ Fixed
- Suno tracks play in voice again — Suno changed how their audio is served, and the bot had been joining the channel and playing nothing
✨ New
- A decision on an application can be undone now. If yours was turned down by mistake it can go back in the queue and be looked at again. It approves nothing by itself - it only puts it back.
- Wild Hunts work in Twitch chat now, not just on Discord. Win a fight and a beast may break cover - !beast to look at it, !snare to try and keep it, !scare to drive it off and take its snares, !slay for the XP.
- You can look at another Bastage's hero now: /rpg and their username. Only heroes set to public show up - if yours is private it stays private, and nobody can tell either way.
- You can spend your Bucks from chat now: /buy and a name, then /buy yes to confirm. It always tells you the price and what you will have left before it takes anything. !buy on Twitch.
- /pets use plus a name picks which companion walks with you, and /pets none sends them home. No more buying a pet and then hunting for the page that switches it on.
- You can put your gear on from chat now: /equip and a name, /unequip to take it off (a slot works too - /unequip weapon). It is !equip in our streamers' Twitch chats.
- The Codex has a new wing - The Deeds. A running record of kills, duels, raids and the day someone first took a name. Only players who have made their character public appear there.
- /shop shows what the Tavern is selling and what your Bucks actually cover, cheapest first. /shop plus a name for a closer look at one thing. Works as !shop on Twitch.
- Quests run from chat: /quests to see yours, /quests start to take one, /quests claim to collect when it is done. Same commands with a ! in our streamers' Twitch chats.
- You can make your RPG character from chat now: /rpg create, then a race, a class and a name. In a Twitch chat it is !rpg create. No need to open the site first.
- Ask the bot where to find something and it hands you the link - the website, the Discord invite, or any one of our streamers' channels.
- The bot answers you on Twitch now. Say its name in any of our streamers' chats and ask it something - no command, no setup. It knows the site, the game and who we are.
🛠️ Fixed
- The Membership button on the bot used to answer a different question - it said everyone is already a member and offered no way to apply, so people who wanted to join came away thinking they had. It now explains both, and takes you straight to the application.
- A few pages people guess at used to be dead ends. /commands, /guide, /twitch, /vods, /bucks, /calendar and about fifteen more now take you somewhere useful instead of a 404.
- In our streamers' Twitch chats, typing !fight now actually starts a fight instead of listing monster codes at you. !fight list still shows what is around, by name.
- Clicking a name on the leaderboard used to lead nowhere for about a dozen people - the ones who chat in Discord but have never signed in here. They are still ranked; their names just are not links any more.
⬆️ Better
- Applying to be a full Bastage now happens in Requests and Approvals, the same place as creator and staff applications. One queue, one place to check on it, and staff can open any application, decided or not, and read back what you wrote.

✨ New
- Every clip now has its own page and its own link. Share a single clip anywhere and it opens on that clip instead of the whole Archive — look for the Link button on any clip in the Archive.
- You can fight guild raids from the website now — swing, send your pet or cast a spell at magnificentbastages.org/raids. Same boss, same health bar, same cooldown as Discord.
- Every update we post here now lives on the site too, at magnificentbastages.org/updates — every fix, feature and security notice, going back to July. If you missed an evening, you can look it up.
🛠️ Fixed
- A few quest and potion icons had garbled nonsense text painted into the artwork itself. The replacements have none.
- The bot no longer leaves "unlock unlimited uses" adverts in chat. They were coming from a third-party service signed in as our bot, and they are now removed the moment they appear.
⬆️ Better
- The other eighty-two icons have been repainted as well — every item, spell, skill, achievement and quest. Spells kept their own colours: frost still reads cold, shadow still reads purple.
- Every character icon in the RPG has been repainted — all nineteen classes and all thirteen races. Each one was picked from three, and the old icons are still on the server if any of them turn out worse.
- Six of the eight world zones have new paintings — the forest, the valley, the marsh, the gorge, the borderlands and the ridge. The plains and the depths kept theirs; they were already the best of the set.
- Every monster in the RPG has been repainted. Twelve new pieces, each one picked from three, and the old paintings are still on the server if any of them turn out worse.
- The guild character now answers from a model running on our own machine instead of a rented one. Replies land in under a second, there is no daily limit any more, and nothing you say to it leaves our hardware.
- The guild character keeps it clean now — no swearing at all, and nothing sexual, in any framing. A new check on every reply enforces it before anything reaches a channel.
- Links to the site now show a picture of the page you are actually linking to. Paste the Tavern and you get the Tavern; paste Raids and you get the boss. Before, every link on every page showed the same castle.
- Clips now show a picture from the clip itself, on the Archive and when you share one. Before, every shared link showed the same grey logo no matter which clip it pointed at. Nothing to do — the pictures are already there.
✨ New
- Search engines can finally find us properly. Every creator page, the Chronicle and the rest of the Keep are all listed.
- The Chronicle has a feed now — follow it in any reader and new posts come to you instead of you checking back.
🛠️ Fixed
- Clip uploads quietly refusing when the server runs low on space is now caught early, before it can happen to you.
- A page running into a problem no longer takes the whole site down with it — everyone else keeps browsing.
⬆️ Better
- Go-live posts now carry buttons — one to the stream, one to that creator’s page here, and one to see who else is live. Before, the only way out of the post was Twitch.
📜 Weekly Rundown
👑 Crown of the Week: 🥇 GalacticNovaFox (2,923 Bucks) · 🥈 ⌊⌊ƝՄͲⲤƦᗅⲤⱩЕƦ (25 Bucks)
🔴 18 streams went live (green_demon_tv, wendib0501, erikthewriter, mattrixxzgaming…)

🧠 Trivia champ: GalacticNovaFox — 3 correct this week
🌟 Member Spotlight: GalacticNovaFox — topped last week's earnings race with 2,923 Bucks!
Type /daily in chat to keep your streak alive, /rank to see the race, and /props <name> to celebrate someone. 🔥
🛠️ Fixed
- Writing your creator bio for the first time can no longer be overwritten. If the Twitch sync happened to be running while you saved, it could replace what you had just typed with your Twitch channel description.
- Buying the last of something no longer charges two people for it. If someone beat you to it by a second, you were charged and got nothing; now you keep your Bucks and are told it sold out.
- Losing a fight in chat now costs the same whether your Bucks are in the bank or your pocket. Banking them first made chat deaths free, the same gap that was closed on the website fights.
🛠️ Fixed
- The games-list privacy setting now does what the page says. If you had ever hidden your list and later linked Steam and picked Anyone, it stayed hidden while the page told you it was public.
- When two or more people are live, the big stream at the top of the Live page starts properly again. It was quietly handing its start command to whichever stream loaded last, so the main stage often sat there not playing.
- Editing an application no longer wipes what you wrote. If anything was rejected the form came back showing your original answers, throwing away everything you had just typed.
- My Requests now tells you what approved actually means for your request. A granted role change said 'Approved — interview next', so people waited for an interview that was never coming when the role was already theirs.
- Tapping your own name on a phone now always works. If the page had not finished loading, the button did nothing at all — and the log-out button lives behind it.
- Staff faces on the Team page now show everyone's current Discord picture instead of the one from their last sign-in here.
- Level-up messages now stay quiet if no channel is set, the way the settings page always said they would. Before, leaving it blank meant the bot congratulated people in whatever channel they happened to be chatting in.
- The schedule calendar no longer hides streams in its last row. Most months it drew a week of days it had never looked up, so anything scheduled there showed as an empty square.
- Phone photos are fine to upload. The character page told you a photo straight off a phone would not work; it does, and gets converted for you.
- Saving your character no longer reports an image error when you did not upload one. With character uploads switched off, every save — a bio edit, a pronoun change — came back looking like it had failed.
- The game-night lineup post works again. It only looked for a poll whose sign-ups were still open, so once the cutoff passed it went quiet on exactly the nights it was meant to post.
- Your data download now includes the text of your notifications, not just their subjects. It always said the only missing message bodies were ones older than 30 days — every body was missing.
- Character art now actually appears when a mod approves it. Approving cleared it from the moderation queue but never put the picture on the character, so members waited on art that had already been approved.
- Dying in the RPG now costs the same whether your Bucks are in the bank or in your pocket. Banking them first made every death free, so fights only ever paid out — wins rewarded you and losses took nothing.
- Page colours in the staff dashboard work now. Picking a tint saved fine and then showed the default anyway, because the browser was throwing the colour away for security reasons before it could be used.
- Audius links pasted straight from the site now show as a link instead of being queued as music that never plays. Searching by name still plays normally — that was always a different address behind the scenes.
- Fighting from chat now counts toward achievements. Winning with !fight or /fight booked the kill but never checked whether you had earned anything — so anyone who fights from Discord or Twitch rather than the website was missing First Blood and everything after it.
- Fixed the music queue jamming. If the jukebox moved on to a track that would not play — a dead radio stream, a link that stopped working — it stopped there and everything queued behind it waited forever. It now skips past a bad track and keeps going.
- The how-to-play guide now uses the right prefix for where you are reading it. On Discord it was telling members to type !fight when Discord uses /fight — only reachable through the guide alias, but wrong every time it was.
- Fixed Blocked Keywords in the moderation settings before anyone used it. The switch would have saved and reported success without ever creating the rule in Discord. Nothing was lost — the feature is currently off — but it will work properly the first time staff turn it on.
- Music search no longer bluffs. Ask for a title made only of words like the, of, official or video and it now says it could not find it and offers the nearest thing it can play, instead of confidently announcing whatever came back first. Bands actually named that, like The The, still match.
⬆️ Better
- ⚜️ The Founder role has a badge now — six people started this place and their name looked like everyone else’s.
⬆️ Better
- 🛡️ You can only be robbed once every half hour now, however many people fancy their chances. Banked Bucks are still completely safe.

✨ New
- 🎚️ Anyone can change what the Music Room plays: `/radio room <station>` — a name, a frequency, whatever you fancy.
- 📻 Real radio stations now work — `/radio 101.3`, `/radio 99.9`, `/radio kiss fm`, even `/radio bbc radio 1 uk`. Thousands of actual FM stations.
- 🎵 New voice channel: **Music Room** — the bot lives in there now and always has something playing. Queue a song and it takes requests, then goes back to the radio.
- 🎧 `/play` searches by name across a proper catalogue, so you no longer need to already have a link to something.
- 🎵 The jukebox can play YouTube now — type `/play` and a song name and it finds it, or paste a link and it plays.
- New: /rob. Take a run at what another member is carrying. It can go wrong, and their banked Bucks are safe.
- New: /bank, /deposit and /withdraw. Bucks in the bank cannot be stolen — what you carry can.
🛠️ Fixed
- 🔒 Tightened up how the bot identifies people, so `/givebucks` always reaches the person you meant. If someone has never signed in to the site, @mention them instead of typing their name.
- 🏦 Banking your Bucks no longer hides you from the Deepest Pockets board — it counts what you own, not what you carry.
- 🎶 The jukebox plays your whole queue instead of stopping after one song.
⬆️ Better
- ✍️ Names on the site are now first-come — no two accounts can share one.
✨ New
- You can now just type a song name — /play tom's diner — and the bot finds it and plays it in your voice channel. Pasting a Spotify link works too: it reads the name and finds a copy it is allowed to play.
- Ten radio stations you can put on in a voice channel — try /radio metal, /radio synthwave or /radio list. The bot joins you and plays.
- Tallow now answers to his name — type /tallow and say something. You no longer have to @ the bot.
⬆️ Better
- The jukebox now tells you when a track cannot be played in voice, and which kinds of links it CAN play there.
✨ New
- Tallow, the Keep hearthkeeper, is awake. Say his name in a message and he will answer — he keeps the fire, not the ledgers, so send money questions to a human.
🛠️ Fixed
- New channels get a proper written topic again instead of a generic one — the old text-writing service had been quietly capped at twenty a day.
- The jukebox now only takes orders from inside the server. Stop, skip and clear could previously be run from a stream chat.
- If you linked your Twitch account and later unlinked it, anything you earned in chat after that went into a wallet nobody could see. Fixed — new earnings land where you can spend them.
- !fight in Twitch chat was paying out twenty times more often than the same fight in the RPG panel. Both now share one cooldown.
- Buying a title you already owned took your Bucks and gave you nothing back. The store now stops you before it charges.
- If you signed up with an email address or Google instead of Discord, you never got the 100 Bucks welcome bonus. You will get it the next time you sign in — no need to do anything.
- Tags on a clip could all disappear if what you typed could not be turned into tags (emoji, punctuation only). It now keeps what it can and leaves the rest alone.
- If staff retired a profile frame you were wearing, the next time you saved your character it quietly came off. You keep it now — it just stops being handed out to new people.
- Editing a store item could wipe what the item actually does. The Streak Shield was the one at risk: a price change would have left it costing Bucks and doing nothing.
- Saving your email preferences was turning OFF every notification, including the ones you had just ticked on. If your preferences look wrong, set them again — they will stick now.
- On the dashboard, Today's quests could show your daily as unclaimed late in the evening even after you had claimed it. It now ticks properly.
- The reminder that your daily streak is about to lapse was going out at lunchtime, not in the evening. It now arrives when you are actually around.
- Clip of the Month was closing voting four hours early — a vote cast late on the last day of the month counted toward the NEXT month. Now it closes at midnight like it should.
- Birthday roles and the yearly Bucks were arriving the evening BEFORE your birthday, and being taken back at 8pm on the day itself. They now run on your actual day.
- Streams that repeat weekly or monthly used to jump an hour when the clocks change. A stream set for 8pm stayed 8pm on the calendar all year now.
- Event times were being saved four hours off (five in winter). If an event was set for 8pm, the site showed it at 4pm. New and edited events are now correct, and the form says plainly that the time is Eastern.
- Daily and work streaks were counted on the wrong day. The day rolled over at 8pm Eastern instead of midnight, so claiming on two evenings either side of 8pm looked like you had missed a day. Some streaks dropped, or reset, when nothing had been missed. Fixed.
- Daily Trivia streaks were counted on the wrong day. Trivia posts at 6PM Eastern, but the streak used UTC time — so answering later in the evening filed it under the next day, and some streaks reset even though you played every day. Fixed. If yours reset for no reason, that was why.
⬆️ Better
- Added an early warning for parts of the site that can fail quietly — so a feature that stops working tells us instead of just looking fine.
- If you write a channel topic yourself, the bot will now only fix spelling. It will never reword what you wrote or add emoji to it.
- Music commands, custom commands and the daily checks all got a tidy-up behind the scenes.
✨ New
- Signing an application now produces a real agreement, with the name you play under and the date written on it, and a reference number. A copy goes to your email and a copy comes to us, so both sides hold the same document.
- The Code of Conduct is now part of the application itself. You read it on the page, in full, before you sign anything — instead of being sent it afterwards and asked to reply.
- Your Codex now has an Achievements tab too, alongside items, enemies and pets — 16 of them, with the ones you have earned filled in and the rest showing ???. Secret ones stay secret until you get them.
- New page — Your Codex. Every item, enemy, pet and achievement in the game on one page, with the ones you have found marked and the rest showing ???. It works this out from what you have already picked up, fought, tamed and earned, and each tab says what fills one in. Under The Game.
🛠️ Fixed
- Pinning a bot command to one channel: typing the channel name instead of pasting its ID used to quietly UNPIN it while saying it had saved. It now says so instead of guessing, and you can paste the channel link as well as its ID.
- The membership application was turning away some perfectly good email addresses and telling people to check them for typos. There was nothing wrong with the addresses — it was our mistake. If that happened to you, please try again, it works now.
- Applications from people who already had a page on the site could not be approved at all — the Approve button looked like it did nothing. Fixed.
- If an email address was typed wrong, staff can correct it and send the agreement again. Before, the copy simply never arrived and nobody found out.
- The How to Play guide took up half a phone screen with its chapter list before you reached any of the guide. The list is shorter now and scrolls on its own.
⬆️ Better
- Sent your application and then spotted a mistake? You can edit it while it is still waiting, and we are told when you do.
- Enemy names in the Codex now take you straight to that monster in the bestiary.
- Item cards in the Codex now tell you what the item actually does — "+5 strength, +2 magic power" — instead of only its rarity and slot. Pets show what they give you as well as what they do.
- The How to Play guide now has a chapter list down the side that follows you as you read, tells you which chapter you are on and how far through you are, and lets you type to jump to one.
- Signing in with Discord no longer asks to see the list of every Discord server you are in. That permission was on the sign-in screen from the start and the site never used it for anything. If you sign in again you will see it ask for less.
- The site now only allows YouTube to load through its no-cookie address. It was still permitted to load the ordinary one as well, which nothing on the site used — so a single stray link could have quietly set the tracking cookie the no-cookie address exists to keep off you.
✨ New
- Staff can now pin a note to the top of any dashboard page, and tint its heading. The page you are pinning to tells you who will read it — a note on a members page says so plainly, so nothing meant for staff can end up in front of everyone.
- Your character can be a different colour now. Nine races take a full spectrum — crimson, ember, gold, verdant, teal, azure, violet, rose — and every race can go ashen. Pick it on your character sheet and it follows you to your profile and the fight card in Discord.
- Your character now appears in the corner of the fight card in Discord. The card used to show the monster and the place and nothing of you beyond a name.
🛠️ Fixed
- If any part of an account deletion cannot be completed, staff now see exactly which part, instead of it passing quietly.
- Deleting your account now clears every copy of your name, picture and email across the whole site — the leaderboard, trivia standings, game polls, the music queue, creator profiles and applications, and any game-server whitelist. Some of those kept their own copy and were being missed.
- If you ever delete your account, it now clears everything — your name, picture, bio and any address you gave us, everywhere they were stored, including the leaderboard and the trivia standings. Some of those copies were being missed. Nobody has deleted an account yet, so nothing was left showing.
- Three pages — Announcements, the Atlas and the Team page — were live the whole time but missing from the admin page list, so their settings could not be changed. They are in there now. The Server Status page was the opposite: nothing linked to it. It is now under About as Is the site down?
- Custom chat commands now respect the cooldown staff set on them. Turning Pets off in the RPG settings now actually turns the pets page off, not just the chat command. Approving a clip no longer leaves the creator page saying Submitted.
- Rejecting a profile picture left your page saying it was still waiting for a moderator, forever. And a picture the site would not accept used to say Saved anyway — now it tells you what was wrong with it.
- A ban or timeout that Discord refused was being recorded as done. Staff saw the action complete while the member was still in the server. Those now show up as failed and get retried.
- Saving the AutoMod page would have switched Discord AutoMod off instead of on — the website and the bot were using different names for the same three rules. Nobody had saved that page yet, so the rules were never lost.
- Clip of the Month has never actually paid out. The code asked the database for the wrong column name, so it failed every single time there was a winner to pay — and looked perfectly healthy in any month nobody voted. Fixed, along with Clip of the Year and its 1,000 Bucks.
- Wild spawns say every 12 hours now instead of every few hours, which is what the code has always enforced. Runecrafting no longer shows a 0-second cooldown as though it were ready — it is craft-only and has no gathering.
- Duel rewards actually cap at 3 a day, or 5 for approved members, and past the cap you still earn a quarter of the XP. The bot was saying 3 for everyone and glory only after.
- The Legends page told you to challenge someone with /duel. There is no such command — duelling is the Duel button under /menu, which is what it says now.
- Blocked-sender email addresses are now hidden on the staff page. A member email is only meant to be shown after a staff member clicks Reveal, which is recorded — that page was listing them in full.
- Chat commands now name themselves correctly on whichever platform you are on. On Discord several replies were telling you to type things like !fight and !slots, which Discord ignores completely.
- Featured Twitch clips on creator pages would have shown an empty box. The site was building the player from a Twitch address it had never allowed itself to load. Nobody had set one yet, so it was never seen.
- Six of the twelve pets did nothing at all in a fight, including Shadow Cat, Cyber Raven and Frost Fox, which cost 1,500 Bucks each. So did the Shadow Dagger and Ember Breastplate, which you could equip for no effect. All of them work now.
- The weekly Earnings race now counts what you actually finish ahead by. It used to add up only your wins, so a big losing week could still rank you high, and gifts you were given counted as earnings. Losses count now, gifts and shop spending do not.
- Your email settings page now shows the truth: the hub emails you about sign-in and password only — everything else goes to Discord. It used to offer one switch for a staff-only email you could never receive.
- Your Twitch link code shows properly again instead of appearing as plain text.
- Unlinking your Twitch account asks first now. The confirmation box was never actually appearing, so one click removed the link with no warning — and that link is what makes chat commands recognise you.
- Skill descriptions now say what the skill actually does. Stealth said it gave a first-strike bonus and actually improves your dodge; Leadership said it boosted party stats and actually increases your share of raid rewards. Eight of them were describing something else entirely.
- Achievements like First Blood, Monster Hunter and Pet Collector told you how to earn them but could only ever be handed out by staff, so nobody had them. They now award themselves when you do the thing — and if you already have, they will appear.
- The game news and patch note channels could post the same article twice if a site reordered its feed or republished something. They now remember everything already posted rather than only the last one.
- The Team page was showing the old Discord picture for staff who had uploaded a new one. It now shows the one they picked, same as everywhere else.
- Your picture now shows up in the same places everywhere. Your profile page and the small avatar in the header only showed a picture if you had uploaded one, so most people saw a plain letter instead of the Discord picture the leaderboard was already using.
- The blackjack table was paying out more than it took, which is why Bastage Bucks had got strange. It now runs like a real one. Nobody has lost anything they already had.
- Buying something the team hands over by hand — like a Shoutout Token — now tells the team straight away, and tells you honestly that it is paid for and on its way rather than claiming it is already done.
- When staff approve your profile picture it now actually goes live. It was being marked approved without ever being published, so it could sit on Waiting for mod review forever. One that had been stuck since 27 July is now showing.
⬆️ Better
- Signing in with Discord is tied to your own browser now, the same way the Google and Twitch sign-ins already were. And the sign-in form no longer takes a different amount of time depending on whether an email has an account here.
- YouTube players on the site now load from the no-cookie address, so YouTube does not get a tracking cookie from you unless you actually press play. Also removed a standing permission for Google Fonts that nothing used.
- Dodge, crit chance and loot luck from your gear and your pet now actually apply. Before, only health, attack, defence and magic did — anything else on the item was quietly ignored.
- The slot machine was keeping 57 of every 100 Bucks bet — far steeper than any of the other games. Two of a kind now returns your bet instead of half, and three of a kind pays 3x to 55x (was 2x to 25x). It keeps about 10 now, in line with the coin flip and the gamble.
✨ New
- Building your RPG character now shows you the character. Pick a race, a class or a look and the portraits change straight away, with a preview that follows you down the page instead of making you save first to find out what you made.
- Skills actually do something now. All seventeen go up by doing the thing they describe — swing a sword and Swordsmanship rises, mine and Mining rises, cast a fire spell and Fire Magic rises — and each level is a small permanent bonus to that same thing. Until now they sat on your sheet and did nothing at all, so everyone starts level.
- If you get banned or timed out — on Discord or in Twitch chat — the bot now sends you a DM straight away telling you what happened, the reason staff gave, and how long a timeout lasts. Bans include a link to appeal and how it works. No more being left guessing.
- There is a proper How to Play guide now, at magnificentbastages.org/how-to-play — every part of the Discord game written out, including the handful of things that do not work the way you would expect.
🛠️ Fixed
- Four achievements were in the list twice under two different names, so profiles showed the same badge twice in a row. Each one appears once now, and nobody lost anything they had earned.
- The colour you choose for your character now actually shows on your profile — the heading, your stat numbers and the border all use it. It was being thrown away by the browser before, so every profile looked the same.
- Public character profiles now show your character. They only ever showed a picture if you had uploaded one, so most profiles had no face on them at all — they now use your race portrait for the look you picked.
- An approved profile picture now shows on the XP leaderboard too, not just on your profile.
- Staff moderation actions taken on the website were logged with a case number but never actually carried out in Discord. They work now, and anyone warned, timed out, kicked or banned is automatically told what happened and why.
- The Monday rundown and several pages told you to type !daily, !rank and !props in Discord. Discord only takes the slash versions — the bot cannot see chat text there at all — so those did nothing. Every one of them now says /daily, /rank and /props.
- Direct messages the site sends you — a note that someone contacted you through your creator page, or an explanation of a Twitch ban or timeout — were being discarded before they reached you. They now arrive.
- Three creators who linked their own Twitch and Discord through the bot were invisible to the Live role. It only ever read a separate staff-set field. It now reads both, so their Live role works when they stream.
- A Twitch timeout notice now tells you the exact moment it lifts, in your own clock, instead of only a rounded length that could be half an hour out.
- Your skills page was showing "no bonus yet" for every skill no matter how high it was. It now shows what each one is actually giving you.
- The ban notice DM was sending people a broken link instead of the appeal form. Anyone banned now gets a link that actually works.
- Three switches on the staff game settings page looked like they turned features on and off and actually did nothing. They work now — which matters, because two of them were showing "off" while the feature was running.
- The artwork behind page titles was being cut off at the sides on wide screens, leaving black bars. It now runs the full width again.
- The Bone Dragon quest promised the "Dragon Slayer" title and never actually gave it — the title did not exist. It does now, and the secret gremlin quest hands over its pet properly too.
- Ban appeals now alert the staff team the moment they are sent. Before, an appeal sat quietly in a list until somebody happened to check it.
- The Community Rules and Refund Policy pages both opened with a leftover "[PUBLISH_DATE]" placeholder instead of a real date. They now show when each was last updated.
- The Guild Raids pages were set to show a background painting that does not exist, so they had a blank band at the top. The join page now uses the Threshold artwork, which had been sitting unused.
⬆️ Better
- Your skills page now shows exactly what each skill is worth right now and how far off the next level is, instead of just a number.
- Every page on the site now opens properly — its own artwork behind the title, with depth and a slow drift, and embers rising behind the whole site instead of just the front page. That includes the quiet ones that were still bare: sign-in, your account, the policy pages, ban appeals, creator pages, and even the "page not found" page, which used to be a bare heading on a black screen.
- Signing up no longer reveals whether an email address already has an account here. If you try to sign up with an address you already registered, we now send you a sign-in link instead of an error.
- The site should feel noticeably faster, especially the second time you visit a page — pictures, styles and scripts are now served from a network close to you instead of from our server every single time.
- Pages now come alive as you scroll instead of sitting still, and the site is a lot lighter: the front page went from about 2 MB of pictures down to 400 KB, which is a real difference on phone data.
- The /howtoplay guide in Discord has been rewritten to match. It had drifted: it said Explore moves you between locations (it does not — Travel does), and it never mentioned Wild Hunts at all.

✨ New
- You can choose how your character looks. Every race and class is drawn masculine and feminine, and you pick which one is yours.
- Every part of the RPG has artwork now — all 19 classes, 13 races, 27 items, 17 skills, 10 spells, 21 achievements, 7 quests and 7 frames. 121 pictures, none of them placeholders any more.
⬆️ Better
- Homepage pictures are about a quarter of the size they were, so it loads noticeably quicker on phones and slower connections. The creator cards were also being cut off at the bottom — that is fixed.
- Picking your race and class is now a proper gallery — you choose by looking at the artwork instead of reading a drop-down list. Locked ones still show, so you can see what you are working towards.
✨ New
- The server has a proper banner above the channel list now, and a new background behind our invite link — so the first thing someone sees before joining is the gates at golden hour.
🛠️ Fixed
- Fixed the menus on the website that open when you point at something in the left-hand bar — they were being cut off and had been invisible on desktop since July.
- The game-library list stopped reposting itself every few hours. It only shows up now when somebody actually adds games.
⬆️ Better
- Roles have icons. The little pictures that were stuck in role names have moved to where they belong, so names read cleanly — Bastage Legend, Regular, Crown of the Week and the rest.
🔒 A straight word about your account details
This morning I found that our nightly backups of the site’s database were sitting somewhere another program on the same server could have read them. I’d rather tell you than quietly fix it.
**What’s in those backups:** email addresses, scrambled password fingerprints (not readable passwords — nobody could get your actual password out of them), and two-factor secrets for anyone who has turned that on.
**What I actually know:**
- It was fixed the same morning, within hours of the first backup ever being written.
- Nothing left our server. The only thing that could have read them was another program already running on it, which we control.
- There is no sign anything opened them.
**What has changed:** the backups are locked down now so only the site itself can touch them, and I restored one from scratch to be certain they genuinely work.
**What you should do:** nothing, honestly. If you would feel better changing your password or re-setting up two-factor, both are on your dashboard — that is your choice, not a warning from me.
## Our promise to you
I could have said nothing about this and nobody would ever have known. That is not how we are going to run this place.
So, plainly: **we will always be transparent with this community.** If something goes wrong here — a mistake, an outage, a security problem, anything that touches your account — you will hear it from us, in plain words, as soon as we know. Good news or bad. Every single time.
You should never have to wonder what we are not telling you.
— Cyber
⚔️ What’s new at the Keep
A big week. Here’s everything that changed and what it means for you.
## Raids got properly good
**Use your whole kit.** A normal hit, your pet, or a spell — same one-swing cooldown, so pick what suits the fight instead of mashing the same button.
**Swings are public now.** Everyone sees them in the channel, and you can press someone else’s raid card to jump in with your own character — exactly like a normal fight.
**Proper attack cards.** Boss art, a health bar, your damage, and where you rank against everyone else in the raid.
**Getting roughed up actually hurts.** A boss now takes real health off you instead of just making you wait longer.
**Rewards actually pay out.** They were quietly failing before — you could beat a boss and get nothing. That’s fixed, and any win that got missed is still owed to you. Check `/menu` → **Guild Raid**. You might have spoils sitting there.
## New: is it down, or is it me?
**magnificentbastages.org/status**
A straight answer on whether the website and each of our game servers is up, with player counts when they’re online. We now watch them automatically — when one stops, staff get told. You shouldn’t be the one who finds out first.
## Pick your own roles
Role menus have a proper banner across the top now, and each role says what it actually gets you instead of leaving you to guess. Level rewards also save correctly — they never did before, which is why they never seemed to work.
## Behind the scenes
The whole site is now backed up every night, and I restored one from scratch to be certain the backups genuinely work rather than just assuming. I also cleared out two months of machine logs nothing reads, which took the database from 134MB to 30MB — everything loads a little quicker for it.
Anything broken, confusing, or just odd — tell me. That’s how most of the above got found.
Want these as they land? Grab the **Website Updates** role from the role menu and they’ll come to you nightly.

✨ New
- We now watch the game servers automatically. The moment one stops, staff get told — you should not be the one who finds out first.
- New page at /status — a straight answer about whether the website and each game server is up, so you never have to ask "is it down or is it me".
- Staff can now build pick-your-own-role menus with a proper banner picture across the top, and say what each role actually gets you.
- Raids let you use your whole kit now — a normal hit, your pet, or a spell. Same one-swing cooldown, so pick what suits the fight.
🛠️ Fixed
- Found that our nightly backups were readable by another program running on the same server, and fixed it the same morning. Those backups hold account details, so it mattered. Nothing left the server, and there is no sign anyone opened them.
- The front page was counting a cancelled event as one that was still on, so it advertised something the events page then did not show.
- Fixed the Remove button on role menus, which failed every time with a vague error.
- Fixed level rewards never saving — the settings page said saved but silently threw the level roles away, so they could never be set up.
- Raid rewards now actually pay out when you beat a boss. If a win ever gets missed, the spoils wait for you under /menu, Guild Raid.
⬆️ Better
- Cleared out two months of machine logs that nothing reads, taking the database from 134MB down to 30MB.
- Everything on the site is now backed up automatically every night, and we tested restoring one from scratch to be certain the backups actually work.
- Raid swings now show up in the channel for everyone to see, and you can press someone else's raid card — it plays your character and posts your own card next to theirs.
- When a raid boss roughs you up it now actually hurts — it takes real health off you instead of only making you wait longer.
- Raid attacks now show a proper card like a normal fight: the boss art, a health bar, your damage and rank in the raid, and your stats.
✨ New
- Names on the leaderboard are now clickable — they open that person page.
- Your RPG page now shows everything you are waiting on in one place — attacks, gathering, your free crate and runes, and the raid swing — so you can see what is ready without pressing anything.
- You can now apply to join the moderation team from your dashboard, under Your Requests (18+).
- Banned from the Discord and think it was a mistake? You can now appeal it at /appeal — a moderator reads every one.
- Guild raids now get their own page — every raid we take on is written up at /raids with the boss art, who did what damage, and what everyone took home.
🛠️ Fixed
- Contact us, Appeal a ban and the rules are now findable from the menu, not just the small print at the bottom.
- Raid bosses are now sized to the people actually playing, so a raid is something the guild can finish instead of always running out the clock.
⬆️ Better
- Typing a sensible guess now works — /shop, /help, /search, /rpg, /logo and a dozen others take you to the right page instead of a dead end.
- The website is easier to get around: every part of the site is now called the same thing wherever you click from, and on your phone the bar at the bottom tells you which part you are in.
- Your combat numbers now show what you are worth on your own and what your gear and pet add on top.
- New members are asked what they are here for when they join Discord, and only get shown the channels they actually want.
- Duels: 3 rewarded wins a day, 5 if you are a member. After that you still earn XP, just less of it, and no crate.
- Skills got a big upgrade in the Discord game: every skill now climbs to level 99 and unlocks real perks along the way — bonus finds at 20, shorter cooldowns at 40, extra materials at 60, faster levelling at 80, and Mastery at 99 doubles the lot.

- Staff can now edit the words on EVERY page from the Page Manager — the title, the description under it, and a highlighted notice banner (great for 'Voting closes Friday!'). The editor now shows you what each bit says right now, and clearing a box puts the original words back.
✨ New

- The world got painted: all 8 RPG places on the Codex now have full landscape artwork — from the sunlit Lush Forest to the sea-dragon of the Abyssal Depths. The same paintings now glow behind the Tavern, Hall, and Community pages too.
- Big art day at the Keep: every RPG item in your inventory now has its own painting — flaming Ember Sword included — the sticker pack got real art, and a few pages that were plain black got their painted backgrounds.
- Member Spotlight got bigger: The Hall now shows ALL the week champions — most loved, top earner, trivia champ, most generous, and longest streak — not just one name.
- Easier to find everything: the menus now list every page — Game Votes, Game Library, the team page, and Logos & Brand included — on your phone too, not just desktop.
- Trouble logging in with Discord (like it asking you to verify your email)? The login page now tells you the fix — and you can always skip Discord and make an account with just your email at the Sign Up page.
- The store got a full makeover — every item now has real artwork, from the 7 Day Streak shield to the pet portraits. Go window-shopping with your Bucks!
- Every RPG pet now has its own portrait — meet the ember wolf, chaos imp, golden guild familiar and the rest in your pet collection and the store.
- Game Library is now easier to find — it's on your dashboard and the site footer. New: you can choose to show your games list on your public profile (or creator page) if you want, and it's off unless you turn it on.
✨ New

- A whole new look for the website — the site is now THE KEEP, with rooms, a fire-lit great hall, and a find-anything search (Ctrl+K)
🛠️ Fixed
- Fixed the upside-down painting and hard-to-read text on the homepage
- Daily and weekly quests can now actually be finished (and claimed rewards show up in Discord)
- Potions now work in the middle of a fight, and prestige actually makes you stronger
⬆️ Better
- Duel challenges now ping your opponent with Accept/Decline buttons
