The Frontier
The Frontier
Our own Minecraft network — one address, and it works whether you play on a PC or a console.
1
What it is
We're building our own Minecraft network — a lobby you land in, a survival world to actually live in, and room to add more worlds later without anybody needing a different address.
It's one address for everyone. You don't need to know which world you want before you join; you arrive in the lobby and pick from there.
Java and Bedrock, same server
Whether you play on a PC with Java Edition or on a console, phone or the Microsoft Store version, you're joining the same world as everyone else. You don't need to buy a second copy, and you don't need a second account.
2
It is not open yet
This is the honest bit, and it's why this page exists before the server does.
The network is built and running, but it is whitelist-only — the door is shut and only names we've added can come through. If you type the address in today, you'll be turned away with a message about not being whitelisted. Nothing is broken when that happens; it just isn't your turn yet.
We'll say so in Discord the day it opens. There's nothing to sign up for here and nothing to miss.
If you're already a member and you want in on the early testing, ask in Discord — we add people by hand, a few at a time, on purpose.
3
How to join, when it opens
On Java Edition (PC)
Multiplayer → Add Server → paste this as the address:
mc.magnificentbastages.org
That's the whole thing. Don't add a port — the normal one is right.
You don't need the newest version. We run a few versions' worth of compatibility, so if your launcher is a release or two behind, you'll still get in. If you ever do get turned away for a version, say which one you're on and we'll check.
On Bedrock (console, phone, tablet, Windows)
Play → Servers → Add Server. Give it any name you like, then:
- Address — mc.magnificentbastages.org
- Port — 19132
The port matters on Bedrock. Leave it at the default and it won't find us.
On PlayStation and Switch, adding a server is awkward — those editions don't offer a plain "add server" box the way phones and Xbox do. If that's you, ask in Discord and we'll walk you through it rather than leaving you fighting a menu.
4
Playing together across both
Bedrock players show up with a dot in front of their name — so .SomeBedrockName is a Bedrock player and a plain name is a Java one. That's the only difference you'll notice, and it exists so nobody gets confused about who's who when two people pick similar names.
Everything else is shared: the same worlds, the same chat, the same builds. If you're on Java and your mate's on an Xbox, you're standing in the same place.
5
Ranks, and the rules
Ranks are Member, Creator, Helper, Mod, Admin and Founders. The staff ones aren't decoration — Helpers and Mods can act on trouble without waiting for Cyber or the founders to wake up.
The rules are the ones you'd guess: don't grief other people's builds, don't cheat, don't be a bellend in chat. Our community rules apply here exactly as they do everywhere else we run.
Cheating clients get caught by the anti-cheat and handled by a person, not by an automatic ban. If you think you were caught wrongly, appeal it — that's what the form is for.
Not yet
There's nothing to do here today
The server isn't open, so there's no queue to join and no list to get on. When it opens we'll announce it in Discord and this page will tell you how to get in.
If you're not in the Discord yet, that's the one thing worth doing — it's free and it takes about a minute.
